Fishbowl Challenge: Monochromatic

Good Morning Blue Fans and happy Hump Day. Here at the Blue Crew, one of our goals is to get our fans to CREATE through the way of a challenge. The only rule; TO HAVE FUN.

So, who's ready?

This week, we challenge you to a MONOCHROMATIC project. This can be a layout, a card, a mixed media project, an altered item, the list goes on.

We also invited Miss Tracy into our fishbowl and challenged her. The only rule for the 3 of us? We had to use the same collection.  We used the new Kraft in Color collection by Doodlebug. This is available for purchase at LBH. We did this just so our fans could see how one collection can look SO different between 3 different projects. Well, that was before something happened....

Here is living proof of WHY Cat and Nat are BFF. We certainly are two peas in a pod. Wouldn't you know that Nat chose to do an orange/white layout to showcase Carter's first homecoming when he was just 4 months old. And Cat chose to do a green/white layout for her niece's homecoming. Seriously, we DID NOT brainstorm or anything before we showed off our finished projects. Some people do think we are sisters and we can certainly see why. Although our subjects are the same, the layouts look very different and still keep within the challenge of the use of one color (with white as an accent).

So, here are our projects for you today.

Miss Tracy made a cheery card using some of the yellow papers in the Kraft in Color collection and some various other yellow paper scraps. She also used the Sunburst Die from Taylored Expressions (available for purchase at LBH) and accented with a little flair from Lawn Fawn. This card makes us smile. Thanks Miss Tracy. We love your card.

Here is Nat's layout. She used some of the orange papers from the KIC collection. She also used a few orange scraps she had in her stash and accented with a little Amy Tan flair, arrow/heart stickers from Studio Calico, Doodlebug letter stickers and orange twine for the picture. She also inked with Mango Mai Tai Quick Quotes chalk ink.



Here is Cat's layout.  She used green papers from the KIC collection as well as papers from her stash. Cat embellished with some green baker's twine, clothes pins, wood veneer (camera) and buttons. Here's a tip from Cat: ink your wood veneer to give them COLOR. How fun! She inked with the Green with Envy Quick Quotes chalk ink.

What a great challenge. We had so much fun creating these 3 projects for you.
