Journaling on your layouts

Happy Monday Blue House fans!!  I hope you had a great weekend.  Nat and I hit the Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington and had a blast!!  We had a great time meeting new people, letting them know all about The Little Blue House and getting a little shopping in.  Here are a few pics.

Today I wanna talk about journaling on your scrapbook layouts.  More specifically I want to talk about creative and alternative ways to journal on your pages.  It is my heartfelt opinion that journaling is a VERY important part of your scrapbooking pages.  The journaling combined with the pictures and the time your put into capturing those memories tell the story behind the pictures. 

That said, sometimes it is hard to find a place to fit in a journaling card, so I am sharing with you some creative ways to fit journaling in.

I flipped back through some of my books and found a few examples for you:

 

 Journaling doesn't always have to be under the picture or in paragraph form.  In the above layout I journaled vertically down the side of the page.  I added some doodle lines under each word to add some visual interest.  On the layout below I used a white gel pen to journal around the outside edge of the layout.

 

 I got the idea for the layout below directly from the Simple Stories blog.  The journaling is tucked in a little pocket in the lower corner. 

 

 For the this layout I journaled along the starburst lines of the Silhouette cut.
